WLFI meteorologist Chad Evans has signed off from the Lafayette, Louisiana CBS affiliate.

Evans joined WLFI in 2009 and left for another station in 2015. He returned to the station in 2018.

“Yes, this is my last night,” Evans told the Journal & Courier on Friday. “I have a couple opportunities with teaching and forecasting that I’ll be announcing on my FB page this weekend.”

In a later post, he told viewers his Facebook page would remain active, “I will be launching forecasting & weather consulting entity (with emphasis on ag consulting for 2025 growing season) amidst teaching at Purdue.”

WLFI is owned by Allen Media Group, which has planned to hub its weathercasts in partnership with The Weather Channel.

“Like everyone within the WLFI viewing area I cherish Chad Evans and will miss him very much!” said WLFI vice president and station manager Gary Yoder. “I wish him nothing but happiness, health and success moving forward!”
