KGO morning anchor Kumasi Aaron has announced she is leaving the San Francisco ABC-owned station to go back home to Florida.

“Friends! I have news to share. This is my last week at @abc7newsbayarea. I’m going home to Florida to be closer to my family. After my dad passed earlier this year, that’s become more important than ever.,” she wrote on social media. “You have no idea how much I’m going to miss you, my Bay Area community, and my ABC7 Mornings family. The tears have come and will come again, but for right now I am rejecting them like @reggieaqui is rejecting this whole announcement. Love y’all!”

Aaron joined the station in 2019.

Her final newscasts will air and stream on Friday, September 13.
