Dentsu has appointed Jeff Greenspoon as chief global client officer in the latest change to the agency’s leadership team, it exclusively shared with ADWEEK.

Greenspoon has been at Dentsu for over a decade, most recently as chief business officer, Americas and global practice president, integrated solutions. He will continue as Americas chief business officer while taking on the expanded role.

Reporting to Dentsu president and global CEO Hiroshi Igarashi, Greenspoon is charged with developing and growing global, client-centric solutions and overseeing the strategy and vision for the agency’s global clients.

This is the first time that Dentsu has had a standalone global chief client officer role. Previously, Jacki Kelley held the dual roles of CEO, Americas and global CCO before departing the agency in 2023.

Earlier in his Dentsu tenure, Greenspoon served as CEO of Dentsu’s Canadian business. He was also co-founder and CEO of digital creative firm Spoke, which Dentsu acquired in 2014.

“Jeff’s expertise in identifying and exploring client challenges is unparalleled, demonstrating a natural curiosity, teamed with a passion for transformative solutioning,” Igarashi said in a statement. “His infectious enthusiasm promotes collaboration across the business, and he has consistently demonstrated his ability to build networks of talent and technology around the world and bring them to bear for clients.”

Last month, Dentsu Americas CEO Michael Komasinski left the agency for ad tech firm Criteo. The company has not yet named a replacement.

Also in January, Dentsu hired Jeffrey Bustos to build out the agency’s analytics practice for retail media.
