For all the punk music lovers out there, the “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die” at MAD is a must see! Discover and learn more about the visual language of punk from DIY zines to flyers that challenged mainstream media. The New York Times calls the exhibition “a fascinating look at how punk and new wave music met the eye.” Forty years after punk music started in New York and London, the effects on culture are still visible not only within music but also in graphic design.
Check out the film series that is running in conjunction with the exhibit, exploring the global influence of punk, satire and protest.
Sign up for the creative workshop, Design Happy Hour led by artist and designer Julia Gorton. All materials will be supplied to create DIY aesthetics of punk’s graphic design.
