Brands are sending their condolences to Duolingo after fresh information emerged about the mysterious death of its iconic green owl mascot, Duo.
The language learning app killed off Duo on Tuesday, sharing an announcement stating authorities were investigating his cause of death. “We’re aware he had many enemies, but we kindly ask that you refrain from sharing why you hate him in the comments,” the brand stated.
In the 24 hours since, Duolingo’s social media team has posted a series of videos offering clues about the owl’s untimely demise. These have included videos of Duo’s “funeral” and a film showing him being hit by a reversing Tesla Cybertruck.
