Watercooler talk

After a strong start to 2025, which included winning Mars’ $1.7 billion media account, Publicis Groupe has delivered another consecutive quarter of growth and upped its outlook for the year.

CEO Arthur Sadoun attributed the success to clients expanding their scope with Publicis, including an “acceleration in demand” for its AI-powered products and services. Tools in demand include its CoreAI system, which supports 100,000 employees with insight generation, media planning, buying, and creative execution, and its production platform, Leona.

Publicis’ connected media unit, which houses its digital experience agencies, influencer marketing shop Influential, investment arm PMX, and Publicis Media, drove high single-digit growth. There was also mid-single-digit growth for Publicis’ creative agencies, thanks to more AI-powered production briefs.

Sadoun said digital transformation hub Publicis Sapient was being hired to build more agentic networks for brands, helping it remain in positive growth territory.

The gap between Publicis and its rivals—WPP, Omnicom, and IPG—is widening each quarter. However, Omnicom’s impending takeover of IPG is poised to shake up the landscape once more, cutting the Big Four down to three before year’s end.
