Brittany Foster has joined Kansas City ABC affiliate KMBC as a meteorologist.
The station now has the city’s largest weather team with six meteorologists.
“When it comes to keeping viewers safe, KMBC 9 First Alert Weather is committed to setting the standard,” said KMBC 9 First Alert chief meteorologist Bryan Busby. “Brittany boosts our ability to keep Kansas and Missouri residents informed and prepared around the clock.”
This is a homecoming for Foster, a K.C. native who interned at the station while earning her meteorology degree at the University of Kansas. She forecasted weather for stations in Wichita, Lincoln, Nebraska and St. Joseph, Missouri before returning to Kansas City.
“I grew up watching KMBC,” Foster said. “My goal was always to come back to Kansas City, but getting to work at this station with people I know has me excited. Bryan is one of the people who inspired me to be a meteorologist. The fact that I get to work with him is so cool.”
“The timing was perfect to bring Brittany back home,” Busby said. “When she interned here I found her to be knowledgeable, eager, and energetic. She proved to be beyond capable to all our meteorologists.”
Foster will anchor Saturday and Sunday mornings on KMBC 9 First News. First Alert meteorologist Katie Horner will move to a Monday through Friday schedule.
