Karl Winter has been named sports director for Madison, Wisconsin ABC affiliate WKOW.

Winter comes from NBC affiliate WGBA in Green Bay. He’ll anchor the sportscasts at 6 and 10 p.m. starting Thursday at 6. 

“I’m thrilled to stay in the Badger State,” Winter said. “Wisconsin has become my home, and I can’t wait to get to know the talented athletes, dedicated coaches, and passionate fans in Madison and throughout southwest Wisconsin!”

“We’re very excited to welcome Karl to our team, and he’s ready to cover all the big games, starting with Badger football,” WKOW news director Dani Maxwell said.
