Des Moines CBS affiliate KCCI has named Kristen Joyal creative services director.
She starts February 10 and succeeds Nathan White who left the station in December 2024.
“Kristen’s creativity and leadership skills should help us nurture the outstanding culture and cohesiveness of our creative services team, while also helping us further elevate and amplify the Iowa News Leader brand,” said Brian Sather, KCCI president and general manager. “Kristen brings a wealth of experience and success across multiple markets at major stations; she also brings a love for community and for lifting up important causes which will be enormously helpful in our ongoing and outstanding service to our Central Iowa neighbors. We’re confident that she and the great KCCI creative services team will be positioned to build upon Nathan’s great work.”
Joyal joins KCCI from Tegna’s NBC and ABC duopoly of WTLV – WJXX in Jacksonville, Florida, known as First Coast News.
Before that, she has worked as the marketing director for First Coast News, creative services director for WAVY and WVBT Fox43, the Nexstar Media duopoly in Portsmouth, Virginia. She’s also held writing, promotional and producing roles at stations including WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island; WBZ in Boston; WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia; and WRDW in Augusta, Georgia.
