Shay McAlister has said goodbye to Louisville ABC affiliate WHAS after 10 years.

“I’ve decided to leave WHAS11. It’s not a decision I made lightly,” she wrote on social media. “This station has given me so much, and I walk away with immense gratitude and peace, knowing it’s time to step away from the comfort of the familiar—and step into something new.”

McAlister said she’s not leaving Louisville or journalism and that “A big announcement is coming soon—and I can’t wait to bring you with me!”

She joined the station as a reporter in July 2015 and was named investigative reporter in 2019 and news anchor in 2021.
