Always wanted to retire early but haven’t quite found the time? Taco Bell has the answer.
The fast-food chain is inviting the old at heart to The Cantinas, an early retirement community where guests can embrace the laid-back lifestyle of retirees—at any age. For one weekend in August, The Cantinas will be a place for Taco Bell superfans to enjoy sun-soaked recreation, retail and, of course, dining.
Concocted by public relations firm Edelman, the getaway in San Diego will offer senior-inspired activities including early morning tee times, afternoon aerobics, pickleball matches and early-bird dinners.
Taco Bell wanted an experience for fans that represents a place where all generations can come together and “Live their Mas” however they want, according to Taylor Montgomery, U.S. chief marketing officer. That includes encouraging them to slow down and take on the mellow lifestyle, similar to Generation Z’s preference to “turn in” instead of “turn up.”
“There’s a common misconception that retirement unlocks the life you’ve been waiting for,” Montgomery said. “And while that may be true for some, we don’t think you should have to wait until 55 to live the life you’re craving.”
For a cool $150, Taco Bell Rewards Members over the age of 21 can get a weekend membership that includes overnight accommodations and full access to amenities, recreation, dining and entertainment. Day passes are also available to rewards members for $50 per day. Tickets go on sale July 16.
