Kash Patel has been sworn in as ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He was sworn in at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., by Attorney General Pamela Bondi, who administered the oath of office.
Bondi stated, “Kash is extremely passionate about restoring the reputation of the FBI, and I look forward to working closely with him to end violent crime, protect our national security, and make America safe again.”
Patel was nominated by President Donald Trump and replaces former Director Christopher Wray. In a social media statement, Patel asserted his goal to “let good cops be cops — and rebuild trust in the FBI.”
In the swearing-in ceremony, Patel stated, “I promise you the following: There will be accountability within the FBI and outside of the FBI, and we will do it through rigorous constitutional oversight, starting this weekend.”
