The David Hockney retrospective presents his works from 1960 to the present across all media, including painting, drawing, photography and video. In his paintings he examines how to capture the world of movement, space and time in two dimensions, experimenting with modernist abstraction, realism and landscapes.
As a special treat, the final gallery shows a collection of Hockney’s drawings on 3 iPads. On the screens, you can watch the progression of each drawing showing views from his bedroom window in Bridlington. It’s fascinating to see creative process and how each composition develops with each brush stroke and layering in real time.
