AGDA and The Design Conference are bringing Adam J. Kurtz to Australia. Don’t miss out!
Adam J. Kurtz (aka “ADAMJK”) is a Brooklyn-based artist and author whose design and illustration is rooted in honesty, humor and a little darkness. His books (1 Page at a Time, Pick Me Up and Things Are What You Make of Them) have been translated into over a dozen languages.
Adam’s work is often a reaction to internet culture, exploring the evolving role of design and language in their modern context, where text and image “memes” rule conversation and have changed the nature of communication itself. It’s no surprise then that he’s amassed a considerable online audience of young—and young-at-heart—creatives.
In addition to personal work, he’s collaborated with brands including Penguin Random House, Urban Outfitters, Brooklyn Public Library, and Instagram, plus appeared in campaigns for UNIQLO, NYC Pride, Reebok and more.
After Adam’s talk, Shillington friends frankie magazine will also be hosting a special ‘Ask Me Anything’-style Q&A with Adam after the Melbourne and Sydney lectures. They’ll be gathering questions via Instagram in the lead-up to the lectures, so keep an eye out!
