KGET morning anchor Alex Fisher announced Tuesday he will be leaving the Bakersfield, California NBC affiliate after nearly a decade at the station.
Fisher has been with KGET since 2016. His last day on the morning newscast is August 1.
“KGET’s motto is working in the spirit of the Golden Empire. And I intend to continue doing just that when my time here is over,” he wrote in a goodbye. “Because Kern County is my home and there is so much to be proud of.”
The station said Anthony Vasquez will replace Fisher on the anchor desk.
