The game of executive musical chairs continues at AMC Networks, with the company promoting Kim Granito to head of marketing.
Top line
The former evp of integrated marketing and AMC Content Room will now take on marketing and brand strategy for the company’s entire U.S. portfolio of entertainment brands. She takes over for Len Fogge, who will retire next month.
Between the lines
Granito has been with AMC Networks since 2011 and has more than 25 years in the industry. Among her accomplishments, she spearheaded the launch of AMC Networks’ in-house branded entertainment and creative studio, Content Room, and spent seven years at the company’s IFC network.
“Kim is a seasoned creative leader with a proven ability to drive ad sales partnerships, develop innovative marketing opportunities and launch brands and campaigns that drive audience engagement and grow revenue,” Kristin Dolan, CEO, AMC Networks, said in a statement.
Fogge, the current president of marketing, has been in the role since May 2022, overseeing the launch of the Anne Rice universe and the final seasons of Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead.
“AMC Networks’ collection of distinct brands, premium originals and massive fandoms have endless potential,” Granito said in a statement. “I look forward to leveraging the full marketing spectrum to unlock our portfolio’s unique value proposition for both our audiences and partners.”
Bottom line
This is just the latest executive shakeup at the company.
Former CEO Christina Spade exited AMC in November 2022 after mere months in the role. At the time of the exit, AMC also enacted a plan for a 20% company-wide layoff.
Dolan, a longtime company board member and the wife of AMC Networks interim executive chairman James L. Dolan, took on the CEO role in February, just a day after the company reorganized its commercial revenue group, focusing on the ad sales portion of the team and expanding roles for key leaders ahead of the upfront.
