Anna Wintour is stepping down from Vogue U.S. after 37 years as its editor in chief.
The legendary journalist announced her intentions to staffers at the iconic Condé Nast-owned publication this week.
According to multiple reports, Wintour will remain at Condé Nast as the media company’s global chief content officer and global editorial director at Vogue, overseeing the “fashion bible,” as well as Vanity Fair, GQ, AD, and other publications.
No timeline was given for when she will leave her position, but a search for her replacement has already begun.
Named as a brand visionary by ADWEEK in 2017, Wintour was responsible for guiding Condé Nast into the digital age.
