NBCUniversal has found a new chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, following Cesar Conde’s promotion in May.

Beau Ferrari has been tapped to succeed Conde in the role, overseeing the company’s media portfolio, including the Telemundo broadcast network, entertainment, sports, news, cable, global studios and 30 local stations.

“Beau is a strong leader with extraordinary business acumen and deep media experience across all media platforms and the Hispanic market. During his three years with the company, he has made a tremendous impact as Telemundo became one of NBCUniversal’s fastest-growing businesses,” said Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBCUniversal television and streaming, in a statement announcing the promotion today. “Beau is ideally suited to seamlessly take over the reins of Telemundo and build on its phenomenal success.”

Ferrari replaces Conde, who in May was promoted to head up all news properties as part of a major NBCU reorganization that also put Lazarus in charge of all entertainment TV at the company. In his new role, Ferrari will now report to Lazarus.

“It’s an incredible honor to lead the talented team at Telemundo Enterprises, particularly at a time when there is so much momentum in this business,” said Ferrari in a statement. “I am excited for the opportunity to take the company to the next level and guide Telemundo’s continued growth.”

Ferrari had been evp of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises since 2017, and previously worked in several roles at Univision Communications, including evp of corporate strategy and development, and evp of operations.

Conde, who had previously been chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, now has oversight of all the company’s news divisions—NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC—in the new role as chairman of NBCUniversal News Group.

In May, NBCU said a new Telemundo Enterprises leader would be named later, replacing Conde, and the Telemundo leadership team would report to Lazarus until that person is found.
