For Creative Morning Brisbane‘s first virtual speaker event, they are welcoming guest speaker Tunteeya Yamaoka to discuss the May theme of Purpose.
Tunteeya Yamaoka is a psychologist and founder of Ikigai Psychology Clinic. She was born in Osaka, and travelled back and forth across Asia, Europe and Africa before settling in Australia, where she now calls home. Having parents from opposite sides of the world (Japan and Ghana) impacted Tunteeya’s vision to create an all-inclusive society. In her practice she uses mindfulness and other contextual behavioural approaches to psychology, and human development to support individuals reach their full potential. She spent several years in Sydney working for various organisations including Charles Sturt University Study Centre (CSU), NSW Health and Healthscope. After gaining clinical experience in Sydney she decided to return to the sunshine state to open Ikigai Psychology Clinic. Tunteeya believes that her purpose is to make an impact on the broader community by introducing people to the philosophy of Ikigai. Ikigai is a Japanese lifestyle concept that encourages individuals to connect with their values to discover their meaning and purpose in life. Tunteeya is also a TEDxOrganiser and organised Robina’s first TEDx event where speakers were invited to spark deep discussions and connections about the ‘Process of Creative Change’. When Tunteeya is not practicing as a Psychologist she enjoys engaging in creative activities such as drawing, writing and making digital art.
Friday 15 May 8:00am—9:00am AEST.
