GMC didn’t just go big to promote its next-generation 2021 GMC Yukon: It went world’s biggest.
General Motors’ truck division teamed up with Twitter to create the world’s biggest tweet, while at the same time backing the new Yukon’s Denali-exclusive interior and its AT4 option, highlighted by its four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.
Over 2,500 color-coded stakes were meticulously placed by hand to help guide GMC’s precision drivers, as well as 110,000 feet of rope line, and the resulting design was big enough to fit 270 football fields inside it, with the only way to capture it via helicopter at just above 12,000 feet.
GMC stressed that it “took extreme care to protect local wildlife and the environment,” and the land was restored upon completion of the project.
Twitter U.S. automotive industry director Guy Schueller said in a statement, “We’re so excited to continue our partnership with GMC this week and go big for the launch of the 2021 Yukon. We’re pairing a tweet-centered video asset with a custom emoji, organic content and some of our most visible ad formats to drive awareness and chatter on-platform. It’s an honor to collaborate on such an innovative launch with one of the most innovative auto manufacturers in the world.”
