Kelly Hatmaker, the assistant news director at Fox 13 Seattle has been let go.

Hatmaker posted the news to social media saying Fox has eliminated the assistant news director position. We asked Fox about the move and will update when we hear back.

If confirmed, this would seem to be a re-working of local newsrooms by Fox Television Stations. Earlier this month, FTS eliminated the sports anchor position in Houston.

“After an incredible run as Assistant News Director at FOX 13 Seattle, my position was recently eliminated as part of broader organizational changes,” Hatmaker said. “While I’m proud of what we built and led in that newsroom—especially during times of breaking news, crisis response, and public accountability—I’m now stepping into a new chapter.”

Hatmaker had worked at the Seattle Fox owned station since January 2022. He worked at KHQ in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho before that.
