Happy Friday to all who celebrate.
In this week’s roundup featuring stories we didn’t post this week for one reason or another, we see that a veteran journalist has retired and a fellow blogger points an insightful finger right at the folks who may be responsible for the Allen media disaster, consultants.
Journalism:
- More than seven months after student journalist Dilan Gohill was arrested while covering a campus protest, Stanford University President Jonathan Levin confirmed to the Student Press Law Center and the First Amendment Coalition on Monday that Gohill will not face campus disciplinary action. Here’s more.
Revolving Door:
- Two members of ABC 13 Houston are leaving the channel to join a sister station on the West Coast. Wendy Granato, president and general manager of ABC 7/KABC-TV in Los Angeles, announced she is adding investigative reporter Kevin Ozebek to the station’s award-winning investigative team “starting immediately.” Brandon De Hoyos, ABC 13’s director of community engagement, will also move to Los Angeles next month to succeed Teresa Samaniego, who is retiring after 45 years. Here’s more.
- Avery Travis and Will DuPree were promoted to KXAN Austin midday anchors from 11am to 1pm with meteorologist Freddy Vela in October 2024. Click here for more.
Retirements:
Planet News:
