Zuckerberg made sure to flatter President Donald Trump, continuing a recent trend of actions that seem like they’re meant to curry favor with the Trump administration.
“This is going to be a big year for redefining our relationship with governments,” he said during the call. “We now have a U.S. administration that is proud of American businesses and is focused on winning.”
Around the same time late Wednesday as Meta released its earnings, The New York Times reported that the company agreed to pay Trump $25 million to settle a lawsuit over the suspension of his accounts following the breach of the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6, 2021.
