PepsiCo brand Mountain Dew will return to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.
The soft drink brand is no stranger to the Big Game, as this marks Mountain Dew’s seventh time as an advertiser.
While no details of the spot have been shared yet, the brand said in a statement that the upcoming campaign will “encourage friends to have a damn good time and enjoy a refreshing Mountain Dew as they cheer on their favorite team during football season.”
Mountain Dew promises more details to come in January 2025, along with some “fun surprises.”
Last year, Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl ad featured its Baja Blast beverage, with an ad featuring the always wry Aubrey Plaza trying to contain her enthusiasm for the product. The spot also featured Plaza’s Parks and Recreation co-star Nick Offerman as the two rode dragons and drank Mountain Dew.
Last year’s spot was created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and the agency will be leading the creative on this year’s effort as well.
Mountain Dew’s 2021 Super Bowl ad challenged viewers to spot how many soda bottles appeared in the spot. The answer, in case you’re curious, was 243. The ad, created by TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, featured Jon Cena driving a pink convertible down a city block that was transformed into a hallucinogenic, watermelon-themed amusement park.
