In this episode of The Security Podcasts featuring Taylor Matthews, Director of IT/Network/Security at OptConnect, we discuss the IoT threat landscape as well as best practices for protecting IoT devices.

“Sometimes you’ll find with IoT devices that they don’t all have the best security controls built into them. Normally, this is for cost purposes, as vendors trying to make a device affordable. They don’t always have things like authentication or encryption or even access control built into the to the device itself. So, trying to manage a large number of devices with fewer controls becomes very difficult. And I think that’s why they become prime targets.”
