Top of the Ticker: For nearly an hour on Tuesday evening, CNN and MSNBC carried Vice President Kamala Harris‘ buzzy interview with popular radio personality Charlamagne tha God. Since it was an audio-only conversation, both networks resorted to creatively displaying an on-air graphic while the interview was rebroadcast on their respective airwaves. The interview took place in front of a live audience Detroit and was primarily aimed at reaching Black male voters who may be skeptical about supporting the Democratic presidential candidate. During her media blitz last week, Harris set aside time to speak with audio superstars Howard Stern and Alex Cooper.
Charlamagne: Why do you allow him to call you the border czar when that wasn’t your role?
Kamala Harris: If I respond to every name he called me, I wouldn’t be focused on the things that actually help the American people. And that’s my focus pic.twitter.com/NQuDjFaN6O

Freedom Rings: After revealing her Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis on-air last year, CNN anchor Sara Sidner has announced that she is cancer-free. The 52-year-old’s journey to defeat cancer included undergoing a double mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemo, and 25 rounds of radiation. In a new interview with The Washington Post, Sidner held back tears while saying: “I have thanked cancer for choosing me. I’m learning that no matter what hell we go through in life that, I am still madly in love with this life.”
You don’t have to be afraid. You just have to survive so that you can thrive. And it starts by knowing your body. #CancerAwareness is so important.
Thank you @timbella for sharing my story. I hope it can help if you sre going through it. https://t.co/ws84Nv3M8M— Sara Sidner (@sarasidnerCNN) October 15, 2024
