WYMT chief forecaster Brandon Robinson died Sunday, August 31. He was 42.

The Hazard, Kentucky CBS affiliate said Robinson underwent three brain surgeries, numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and an experimental treatment to fight the disease since he was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016.

He started working at the station on May 14, 2007. He said during his time at WYMT he has served in nearly every position in the newsroom from producing, news and weather anchoring, to reporting.

During his 17-year career, Brandon experienced a lot of milestones in his life.

He married the love of his life, Stephanie on October 18, 2014, which he often refers to as the “best day of his life.” Together the two have a Boston Terrier named Linus who is more like their child and more recently adopted another furry friend, Icy.

Besides forecasting weather, a few of Brandon’s other favorite things include Christmas, the Peanuts, Star Trek, reading, and watching TV.
