Michael Martin said goodbye to Scripps owned Grand Rapids, Michigan Fox affiliate WXMI after more than 11 years on Wednesday.
He started working at the station in 2013. There’s no word where he’s going next.
“Michael E Martin has been a HUGE part of the Fox 17 team for more than a decade. From photographer, to assignment desk, to anchoring our shows, delivering breaking news and amazing, unique stories,” morning anchor Janice Allen wrote on social media. “Not to mention, he’s HILARIOUS and a great friend. Michael, you have a lot to be proud of. It’s been an honor working with you and watching your career grow.”
The station said he is the man behind a story that got the most views online, a cat that saved a man’s life by getting a cell phone to him after the man fell.
Before working as a reporter, Martin was a photojournalist and assignment editor.
