Man in Finance landed @girl_on_couch a talent agent and a record deal, but it was just one of 2024’s top memes, joining Brat Summer from @charlixcx, “very demure, very mindful” from @joolieannie, and Sambas and a Little Red Bag from @maisiisobel.
New voices propelled themselves into the heart of U.K. culture, fueled by TikTok. Theater creator @sonnymonaghan scored a dream role in Dear Evan Hansen, while artist and presenter @zeewhatidid set up shop on the red carpet.
On the food front, it was the year of the potato, as breakout moments on TikTok brought @thespudbrothers and @merchants_fishandchips to the top of the menu pile for many.
